Reed & Associates Marketing Provides Meals to Local Families with Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore

NORFOLK, Va. — Reed & Associates Marketing, Inc. (R&A), a full-service marketing, advertising and public relations agency, joined hundreds of supporters across Hampton Roads to participate in the 18th Annual 106.9 The Fox and FM99 Mayflower Marathon benefiting the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. This marks the second event of 2014 the two organizations collaborated, with the first being Taste of Hampton Roads.

Earlier this year, Reed & Associates Marketing was a sponsor of the 25th annual Taste of Hampton Roads, providing nearly 15,000 meals for local families, as well as the designer of the highly coveted Taste of Hampton Roads 2014 Souvenir Cookbook. This event raises funds for the Foodbank to purchase and distribute grocery products through nearly 400 Partner Agencies and Programs. In one night Taste of Hampton Roads can raise hundreds of thousands of meals for food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, Kids Cafes®, BackPack Programs, and Mobile Pantries throughout the area.

“We believe that being an active member of the community is an important aspect of corporate social responsibility,” said Ashley Knepper, co-founder and president of Reed & Associates Marketing. “Not just during the holiday season, but year-round, Reed & Associates Marketing wholeheartedly advocates giving back.”

Recently, Reed & Associates Marketing participated in the Mayflower Marathon helping collect food and funds to assist those less fortunate throughout the area. Known as the area’s largest food and fund drive of its kind, the goal is to fill the shelves at the Foodbank so that those at risk of hunger will have the gift of a meal this holiday season. The R&A team added over 100 pounds of food providing countless meals to residents of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin and the Eastern shore service areas.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to Hampton Roads and enjoy partnering with the Foodbank for these events,” added Knepper.
