R&A Sponsors Local Cycling Event to Raise Funds for Rare Cancer Research

Over the weekend, R&A team members sponsored and participated in an extraordinary event that’s close to our hearts – Crush Cancer, an indoor cycling event to raise funds for rare cancer research. Since an extended member of the R&A family personally benefited from the lifesaving mission of this organization, there was an obvious interest from the agency to help the local chapter succeed. Thus, the partnership was born!

In the months preceding yesterday’s festivities, R&A teamed up with the Crush Cancer group to plan and execute their third annual event. As the top performing satellite branch across the nation, the Virginia Beach chapter is leading the way with innovative fundraising techniques and we were all too happy to help bring their ideas to life.

As part of our sponsorship, R&A provided brand management services through the rebranding of Crush Cancer and the new logo as well as produced all creative elements tied to the event, including collateral and event signage, promotional items, a billboard, etc. Additionally, the team carried out a social media strategy and administered public relations and event support. On top of the marketing tactics donated, the agency had eight members ride on the day of, which contributed nearly $2,000 to the fundraiser!

“Our team had so much fun riding in support of such a great cause,” said Allison Mantz, account executive at R&A. “The energy in the room was contagious and I loved how we all came together to Crush Cancer! I’m also incredibly grateful to my coworkers who have shown their unwavering support throughout a time when my fiance was battling a rare cancer. I was truly touched that they all came out to support a cause so near and dear to us.”

In 10 years of rides, the national organization has raised over $140 million for rare cancer research. 100 percent of every dollar raised through the participants goes toward rare cancer research and clinical trials led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the nation’s No. 1 cancer care hospital.  The R&A team loved being involved in the Crush Cancer event and looks forward to continuing our support for years to come. It’s not too late to donate to this terrific cause! Visit www.LetsCrushCancer.org to contribute. #LetsCrushCancer
