NORFOLK, Va. — Reed & Associates Marketing, Inc. (R&A), a full-service marketing, advertising and public relations agency, has been recognized as a 2014 Corporate VOLUNTEER Excellence Awards honoree in the small business category.
The Corporate VOLUNTEER Excellence Awards are presented annually by VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, in partnership with the Hampton Roads Corporate VOLUNTEER Council and Inside Business. The awards recognize companies that have made a commitment to building strong and effective employee volunteer programs.
At its core, R&A believes in the philosophy of giving back and enjoys being an active member of the community through donating time, professional services and financial contributions. Since its establishment in 2008, the company has supported various organizations, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, Girls on the Run South Hampton Roads, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, Virginia Gentleman’s Foundation, Operation Homefront and the Hampton YMCA.
“The team at Reed and Associates Marketing is a stellar example of what skills based volunteer efforts can do to help forward the missions of our nonprofit community,” said Kate Meechan, VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads executive director. “They have successfully developed an integrated volunteer program that takes the talents of their employees and allows them to implement those aptitudes for the good of our community.”
R&A was the top fundraiser for the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk™ 2013 out of 98 total Hampton Roads teams with $10,712, accounting for 15% of the total funds raised. This year, the agency hopes to increase the funds donated with a goal of $13,000.

Reed & Associates Marketing will receive this award alongside other generous companies, such as Avalon Bay Communities, Inc. and Checkered Flag Volkswagen & Hyundai, at the December 3rd awards banquet.
