The R&A team believes giving back to the community should be a part of every business’ values. As such, we support a variety of philanthropies all year long (just read our Looking Back on Giving Back infographic). Last week, we joined Hampton Roads residents to participate in the 20th Annual 106.9 The Fox and FM99 Mayflower Marathon benefiting the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.
There are over 300,000 families and individuals in need of food assistance in our area. To help provide for them, the Mayflower Marathon, known as the largest food and fund drive of its kind locally, serves as an avenue to collect assistance for those less fortunate. R&A added over 270 pounds of food to the total 544,000 pounds collected during the three-day event, providing about 652,000 meals to residents of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin and the Eastern Shore service areas.
